Dr. Eddy

Dr. Michael Eddy

Dr. Michael Eddy is the inaugural principal at Dove Creek Middle School. Prior to opening DCMS, Dr. Eddy was principal at Bridge Middle School, High Shoals Elementary and Smith-Barnes Elementary. Before becoming a principal, he served for five years as Coordinator for Fine Arts in Henry County. Under Dr. Eddy’s leadership, Malcom Bridge Middle (2022) and High Shoals Elementary (2017) have been named Blue Ribbon Schools of Excellence, being recognized at the highest designation level of Lighthouse Schools. As Coordinator for Fine Arts, he oversaw the operation of all fine arts programs for forty-three schools and started the strings program in all Henry County middle and high schools. 

Dr. Eddy began his teaching career as a band director, having served as the Director of Bands at Jonesboro High School, Forest Park High School, and Riverwood High School. Dr. Eddy received his Ed.D. from the University of Georgia, M.Ed. from the State University of West Georgia, and B.M.E. from Stetson University. 

Dr. Eddy is a volunteer firefighter and emergency medical responder with Oconee County Fire Rescue. Additionally, he is an active member of the Oconee County Rotary Club and treasurer for the M and K Foundation as well as the Southern Crescent Symphony.

Vaughn

Dr. Lisa Vaughn

Dr. Lisa Vaughn is honored to serve as an Assistant Principal at Dove Creek Middle School. A native of Commerce, Dr. Vaughn is a proud graduate of Commerce High School. She obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from Berry College in 1998 and attended graduate school at The University of Georgia, earning a Master of Education degree in 2001 and Doctor of Education degree in 2004. Dr. Vaughn taught Family and Consumer Sciences at the high school level for seven years and was named Commerce High and Commerce City Schools Teacher of the Year in 2001. 

Dr. Vaughn joined the Oconee County School System in 2005 as the Director of Secondary Education and CTAE. She moved to Oconee County High School in 2008 and served as Assistant Principal of Instruction for six years. She was named GASSP Assistant Principal of the Year in 2014. Dr. Vaughn proudly served as an Assistant Principal at Malcom Bridge Middle for nine years and is excited to be a part of the inaugural faculty at DCMS.

Dr. Vaughn is a member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church and is active in the music and women's ministries.

Thomas

Mr. Brian Roberson

Brian Roberson is currently an assistant principal at DCMS.  His previous experience includes working as a Business and Marketing education teacher at the middle and high school levels, Assistant Principal at Kinchafoonee Primary School and Lee County High School, CTAE Director for the Lee County School System, as well as coaching baseball and softball for a number of years in Lee County and Glynn County.  

Mr. Roberson holds a B.A. in Business Administration from Valdosta State University, an M.B.A. from Georgia Southern University and an Ed.S. in Educational Leadership from Liberty University.  Mr. Roberson and his wife Kelly have two boys, Will and Nate.
