About Us

In August 2023, Oconee County Schools expanded its educational facilities by inaugurating Dove Creek Middle School, the district's third middle school. The school welcomed its first cohort of students for the 2023-2024 academic year under the leadership of Dr. Michael Eddy, who served as the inaugural principal. This new addition aimed to accommodate the growing student population and enhance the educational offerings in Oconee County.

• Ribbon-cutting ceremony on July 17, 2023
• Branded the Knights mascot and logo to create the “Knights Nation”
• Apalachee Athletic Conference championships in girls and boys basketball in their first season of existence
• Northeast Georgia and OCS winners in technology, science, fine arts, FFA, and FBLA and the runner-up in the district spelling bee
• Received more than $20,000 in a Walton EMC EmPOWERment Grant to apply toward animal sciences
• Home to a sixth-grade class that earned a Safe Online Surfing national award for cybersafety and digital citizenship from the Federal Bureau of Investigation
• First-year selections of 80 Knights of the Month and 175 Positive Knight Referrals
